Do you want to be part of this army and if so WHY? So many today want to serve in God’s army, but what are our motives? Are still stuck in the Old Testament and trying to work our way into heaven? Do we like to be seen by others as working for the Church, contributing to “the Cause”? Do we do it because it soothes our conscious? What about the Sunday Christians who easily look at others that do not attend church with condemnation in their eyes and perceive themselves in a better position for grace? Of course there is also those who give financially and believe that in their “thank you note” a place on the stage was included from where they can dictate how the church should function. What are God’s requirements for enrolment in His army? I would certainly say first of all a very definite relationship born out of seeking God with your whole heart, confessing your sins, repenting, believing in Jesus Christ our Saviour, daily dying and following Him (remember dead people don’t have their own will), sitting in His presence, praying with your whole being is a good start! Come to a place where all that matters is our God – nothing else. A place where the old life/old person are totally broken down, the umbilical cord connecting you with your past CUT and you stand broken and raw before your God – THEN HE CAN WORK WITH YOU! YOU CAN BE TRAINED FOR HIS ARMY! “EATING” the Word. You have to have a good, sound, in-depth knowledge of your weaponry if you want to fight in the army! STAND IN UNITY!! Together we will stand, divided we will fall! There is more politics in churches that in the government! There is one body and one Spirit (Ephesians 4:4). God never intended for His people to bicker and fight and build little empires! IT IS ALL ABOUT HIM - REMEMBER! SUBMISSION! Why did God introduce an order in His Kingdom if everyone can do what he or she wants? Submit to God first and foremost! Submit to His voice in your life, His soft coaching in your day-to-day living, His guidance in the raising of your children, HIS PEACE IN YOUR SPIRIT! Everyone has the responsibility to make sure that the teaching, preaching, etc that he/she receives is in line with the Word as God originally intended it. WORSHIP! The most important requirement for enrolment in the army of God is worship!!!! We must have a burning, unquenchable, undeniable passion in our spirit to honour and worship God with every prayer we say, every breath we take, very step we take, every decision we make, every word we speak! This is the heart of a true disciple of Christ. To go out into the world, guided by the Holy Spirit as a vessel for the honour of God. To worship Him with every tear you dry, every person you clothe, every beggar you feed, every stranger’s eyes that you look into – HONOUR AND WORSHIP GOD! Let Him manifest His Glory through you! Why? Because it please Him! It delights Him, you where created for God’s pleasure, to serve Him as He guides you, to love Him through being a vessel when and where the Spirit leads you. Matthew 28:19 & 20 “Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you… Our goal, our passion, our reason for living should be to honour our God, to fulfil His command to make disciples (not half-born, lukewarm Christians) but disciples that observe, EVERYTHING GOD HAS COMMANDED!!! People that in turn can go out and touch other people for Christ and thus BUILD A ARMY THAT CONSISTS OF WHOLE, SPIRIT-FILLED DISCIPLES THAT STAND IN UNITY FOR ONE CAUSE – TO WORSHIP THE KING OF KINGS THROUGH TRUTH IN WORD, THOUGHT AND DEED! REMEMBER : THE HIGHEST RANK IN THE ARMY OF GOD IS THAT OF SERVANT! BE RADICAL, HONOUR GOD! DEDICATE YOUR WHOLE LIFE TO HIM, NOT SUNDAYS BETWEEN 10 AND 12 O’ CLOCK! CHEAP GOSPEL PRESENTATIONS WILL NOT DO! IT IS EVERYTHING OR NOTHING! Prayer: Thank you Father, that we can humbly come to You today and beg your forgiveness for all our self-made, self-honouring motives that we defend with carefully selected snippets from your Word. Please forgive us. Thank you for imparting Your heart’s desire into our spirits in this very moment, Your passion, Your will for each of us and God, please give us the grace that we need to serve you in TRUTH! We love you Father, Amen. |
